Actress Ishitta Arun to feature in director Hansal Mehta’s crime drama ‘Scoop’
Ishitta Arun, who starred in the successful south Indian film ‘Rana Naidu’, is set to feature in National Award-winning director Hansal Mehta’s upcoming crime drama ‘Scoop’. Here are the details of the new project:
The experience: Despite working on another series, Ishitta found herself on the set of ‘Scoop’ suddenly without preparation. She was highly nervous but director Hansal Mehta made her comfortable.
The role: In the investigative drama Ishitta will be playing the character of Nelly, wife to Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub who plays a journalist. She is not one of the primary characters but adds great value to Zeeshan’s life.
The plot: ‘Scoop’ is inspired by former crime journalist Jigna Vora’s biographical book ‘Behind The Bars In Byculla: My Days in Prison’. The story follows Jigna Vora’s life after she is charged with the heinous murder of a fellow journalist and ends up in a prison cell with those she once reported on.
The co-stars: ‘Scoop’ also stars Karishma Tanna, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Harman Baweja, Tannishtha Chatterjee, and Deven Bhojani.
The director: Ishitta has heaped praise on director Hansal Mehta calling him a man of very few words who trusts an actor’s ability and gives them space to be themselves.
Ishitta’s background: Ishitta is the daughter of acclaimed singer-actress Illa Arun and has over 20 years of experience across theatre, music, and television. She is also an interior design consultant and has hosted live shows.
Future projects: Ishitta is working on several projects including songs for her husband, Dhruv Ghanekar. She is also penning the songs for a grand-scale Broadway musical for Japan.
