Legendary singer Anuradha Paudwal recently stirred up controversy with her comments on the trend of remixes in Hindi movies. In a statement issued by the singer, she clarified her stance and urged the media to avoid sensationalism.

Remixes should do justice to the original song

Many people assume that Paudwal was speaking against popular singer Arijit Singh when she made comments about the remix version of her song ‘Aaj Phir Tum Pe’ from the movie Dayavan (1989). However, in her statement, she clarified that she has always preferred the original song to a remix and that her comment about the song was about the remix, not the singer.

Paudwal emphasised that remixes should do justice to the original song, as many ’90s songs are redone but fail to capture the essence of the original. The singer added that tributes to music composers could be done gracefully.
